NORCAL AR Sprint Championship
Who will be crowned the 2011 NORCAL AR Sprint Champions?
For 2011 we’ve introduced a new, point-based system to determine the top teams competing in our Sprint Series events. The NORCAL AR Sprint Champions title will be awarded to the top performing teams and solo racers in the following categories:
- 2-Person Co-ed
- 2-Person All-Female
- 2-Person All Male
- Solo Female
- Solo Male
In addition to prizes for the first place teams, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will also be given for all team (duo) divisions.
Championship Point System
For each Sprint Series event, teams participating in each of the five divisions will receive points based on the following finish rankings:
1st Place: 25 points
2nd Place: 20 points
3rd Place: 17 points
4th Place: 15 points
5th Place: 13 points
6th Place: 11 points
7th Place: 10 points
8th Place to Last Place: 8 points
The final event of the 2011 series, Whiskeytown (in October), will be worth an additional 5 points (e.g. 1st=30 points, 2nd=25 points, etc.).
While there are 5 Sprint Series events to potentially race, we will use your teams 4 highest scores in the overall ranking calculations. Therefore, the maximum points a team could accumulate even if it were to win all 5 races (including the Whiskeytown Finale) would be 105 points (25, 25, 25, and 30 points respectively).
Team Determination
Once you register your team, you need to race by the same team name all season. Should one of your team members not be able to participate in an event, you may get a substitute. However, the substitute needs to be of the same gender or else your points earned for that race will be applied to the new race category.
